Restructure project using the Engineering Finance tools and generate options to optimise return on investment by utilising Techno-Financial Model to construct the financial model to determine the project financial viability such as IRR and payback period
Course Aim
The aim of the seminar is to introduce the Engineering Finance methodology to (re)structure projects and generate Options to optimise the return on investments and to construct the Techno Financial Model ( TFM ) which is used to determine the financial viability (IRR, payback period etc) and determination of Technology and Product options. This tool can also be used to determine location and product-technology option to ensure long-term sustainability of projects. These can also be used in project planning, control of construction cost and O&M.
Strength of this course is the topic on how to compute the Working Capital and Interest During Construction. Actual Case Studies from Biomass Power Plant to Biodiesel Plant to Mining and Property development.
Learning Goals
The course will achieve the following learning goals
Learn to build your own Financial Models (Cashflow, P&L and ROl) on Excel
Learn new financial terminologies: Techno-Financial Model, Critical Component, Economic Efficiency, Cost Efficiency Model etc
Learn from Actual Case Studies: Biomass Power, Biodiesel, Mining, Property etc ⢠Teach you how to compute the IRR, NPV and payback period
Construct the āSā or Fund Drawdown Curve
Application of Techno-Financial Model in determining the most viable Technology-Product
Teach you how to compute the Working Capital Requirement (Wcap)
Determine the Critical Components that could undermine the financial viability of project to ensure long-term viability
